Handmade Love -Auntie Di's De-lites

My first experience with Auntie Di was over 2 years ago, when I was in the good ol' etsy red chat room, whining about a horrible head cold i had.

Di had a soap shop at the time, and showed me her amazing Sinus Soother soap. I bought a bar and it arrived quick and cleared my head better than that nasty drugstore stuff.

I was hooked.

Di eventually sold the soap shop, but I can still get my fix of heavenly scents with her soy wax candles.

I just bought a 6 pack, and they are meant to be gift, but i have a sneaking suspicion they might never leave my living room.

Di's selection of candles is vast and diverse, so I can stand to give a few away, right? Well, We'll see.

Cobalt

These striking earrings feature vintage Austrian beads and salvaged frosted rings in a pretty shade of blue.

Ring dangles I found at an antique vendor, wrapped up in sterling silver. Suspended from the beads by sterling silver.

Handmade by me sterling ear wires top the earrings, hand filed for smoothness and comfort.

Walking On Eggshells

Rough and Random sterling silver discs, which I hand formed from my sterling scraps with a torch, hammer, rolling mill and doming set.

The random shape of the silver, which is about 24 gauge, reminds me of eggshells, freshly cracked for my morning meal.

The silver discs are sanded for a brushed look, and hung from handmade by me sterling silver circle wires. They measure about 5/8 inch/ 1.60 cm, but since they are random and each handmade, size and shape may vary from pair to pair.

A wonderful mix of Light & Dark.

Milky rough cut glass beads, wrapped in handmade by me fine silver headpins and hung from handmade by me sterling silver ear wires. All silver is oxidized for a matte black look.

Regal aged brass drops, capped with buttery yellow faceted glass beads, hung from handmade by me red brass ear wires.

The earrings are aged with a natural method using no harsh chemicals, and gently hand polished to bring out some of the rich golden brass while leaving some deep cocoa brown for an heirloom quality.

Moon Glow

Pale Frost Lucite beads, with a ribbed melon like texture wrapped in fine silver wire. Topped with a frosted black pebbled lucite bead, framed in tiny Bali Daisy Beads.

A bold pair, great for a holiday party.

Teardrop Pendant

A bold hoop of natural copper wire tops a seafoam glass teardrop. It is accented with another seafoam bead on top.

The entire pendant is hand formed by me from natural uncoated copper wire, and measures 2.5 inches/6.35 cm.

Pendant comes hung from a copper chain ended with copper lobster clasp and tab.

Whee, I Want One!

Pale Rose Quartz Teardrop beads, wrapped in fine silver wire and topped with 3 freshwater pearls.

A lovely pair for a spring bride or as a graduation gift.

Pure Earrings

Brass finished steel retaining rings, hung from handmade by me oxidized sterling silver french wires.

A simpler version of the "Re....tension" earrings, spiced up a bit by the surprisingly hard to find brass finish rings.

The rings have a bronzy tone, complimented beautifully by the deep cocoa brown sterling ear wires.

Warm olivine green glass beads, wrapped around a blackened steel retaining ring with shining natural copper wire, which will patina with time.

Hung from handmade by me oxidized sterling silver french wires.

Wisdom Pendant - Black & White

Chunky, Funky Hardware with a pretty edge.

A 1 inch steel internal retaining ring frame a funky black and white glass owl bead, wrapped up in silvertone wire and topped with a frosted black glass bead with a wire swirl embellishment.

The blackened retaining ring, also called a snap ring, gives the owl a nice frame and a industrial edge.

Salvaged

Funky vintage beads, with black and copper tones over the raised intricate pattern.

Wrapped in handmade by me fine silver headpins, and hung from handmade by me sterling silver french ear wires, which are rolled and hand filed for strength and comfort.

The silver is oxidized to a deep cocoa brown to accent the tones of the beads.

Sea Priestess

Little garnet beads, hand wrapped in sterling silver wire. Freshwater pearls are wrapped in handmade by me fine silver headpins and hung from the garnet group.

Glossy blackstone nugget, wrapped up in handmade by me fine silver headpin. Perched on top is a single frosted green lucite flower, which had a jet black faceted czech preciosa crystal tucked inside, all wrapped in handmade by me fine silver headpin.

The Answer to Life, The Universe and Everything In Sterling

The Answer is stamped onto 1/2 inch discs of sterling silver. The Answer is oxidized, and the sterling silver ear wires are oxidized to match. The discs are then sanded and buffed for a brushed texture.

Each pair is hand cut, stamped and sanded; so allow for slight variances.

Starlight Pendant

Chunky, Funky Hardware with a pretty edge.

A progressive stack of retaining rings, 1.25 inch to .75 inch, attached to a black ball chain necklace with gold plated jump rings.

From the largest ring hangs a single gold plated steel star charm for a bit of sparkle and shine.

The blackened steel and gleaming golden charm complement each other, creating a interesting pendant that's sure to get a second or third glance.

Cotton Candy Pendant

A duo of hand forged rings tops a milky pink teardrop bead.

The rings are textured by hand with various hammers and punched, then polished to a gleaming mirror like shine.

A single glass teardrop bead, which reminds me of the yummy fluffy cotton candy that i ate every summer at the state fair.

The bead is wrapped in sterling silver wire and hung form the larger ring for a feminine pendant with a funky edge.

A HUGE thanks to The Ladies (and gentleman) over at EB for posting about etsyHacks last week.

I had no idea what a grease monkey was (other than the guy who works at the car dealer up the road in desperate need of a shower), but now, thanks to Ian over at etsyHacks, I am HOOKED!

etsyHacks is a set of GreaseMonkey scripts designed to make etsy more usable to sellers and buyers. You can modify your invoices, make your ship more seller friendly, and make the forum easier to communicate on, all with a little bit of "tweeking" that takes less than 3 second to install.

Right now, i am absolutely in love with the "quote post" function, which allows you to quickly post a full quote to reply to.

I also get all giddy over the "edit this item" function, which allows sellers to edit items from the "front" end of their shop, essentially making their currently active items search able.

These two things alone are going to save users HOURS of time every year.

So sellers, get to etsyHacks and make your shop more usable.

Buyers and community members who love the forum, check out the "quote post" and "user links", they make the forum SO much easier to use, you might never get ANY work done ;)
